The Urban Eats Shared Kitchen & Kitchen Incubator is a commercial space that offers an affordable, certified, and equipped facility for entrepreneurs, food truck owners, caterers, or home bakers. Instead of paying high monthly rent for your own dedicated space, you pay a monthly rate to use the space at hours and days of the week that work for you. Our shared kitchen ultimately serves as a space in which chefs and entrepreneurs of the community can share their knowledge, inspiration, and opportunities for growing their businesses. We have internet access and seating, so you can use the relaxing Neighborhood FoodHall area to wind down and relax after some kitchen time, or to conduct business.

Food Handlers Certificate:
Commercial Kitchens are required by St. Louis City Health Department to maintain high standards of sanitation at all times.
Most small food businesses should already have their ServSafe Certificate (or equivalent).

If you do not, and are just starting out, all that is involved is taking the course in a class environment or on-line and then taking a short exam. Servsafe www.servsafe.com will help you determine what material you may need, if you need help we can assist.

Liability Insurance:
Your Liability Insurance must be current. You’ll need to list The Urban Eats Shared Kitchen as an additional insured.

Permits/Licenses:
St. Louis City requires you to have a Business License and a Health Department Permit. The City’s Business Assistance Center can help you determine what is correct for your type of enterprise.
