The Community Kitchen at the Wimberly Center for Community Development in Winder, Georgia, is operated by Wimberly's Roots, a non-profit providing hands-on education in cooking and gardening.

This shared-use facility supports local entrepreneurs and small business owners, offering a cost-effective way to start or grow their business without the need for significant upfront investments in kitchen equipment or property. Licensed by the Georgia Department of Agriculture as a Food Sales Establishment, it is ideal for bakers, farmers market vendors, and direct-to-consumer retailers.

Open daily from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm, the kitchen features commercial-grade equipment, including a tilting skillet, kettles, gas range and grill, convection ovens, a proofer, a Hobart standing mixer, prep tables, and a high-temperature commercial dishwasher, as well as dry, refrigerated, and frozen storage.

The kitchen is designated for low-risk packaged foods, such as baked goods, jams, jellies, candies, spices, certain sauces, and pickled items. High-risk foods containing meat, bones, or specialty dairy products are not permitted.

Members benefit from discounted access to additional spaces, including the demonstration kitchen and banquet hall, suitable for cooking classes, product launches, tastings, menu development, photo shoots, and catered events.

Weekends (Friday-Sunday): $20/hour
